Part of the Greater Quebec City region, Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury is located north of Quebec City and is a united township comprising the towns of Stoneham and Tewkesbury, which in the 1970s also annexed the town of Saint-Adolphe. It is mainly developed and inhabited in the southern part of the area, while the northern part is included in the Jacques-Cartier National Park area. The park is one of Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury's main attractions and offers a plethora of year-round recreational activities and wildlife viewing opportunities. Another main attraction is Stoneham Mountain Resort, a popular ski hill during winter months that also hosts numerous summer activities, resort accommodations and a campground. The names Stoneham and Tewkesbury are taken from villages of the same name in Suffolk and Glocestershire, England where two of the original settlers of the land were from.Tourist Attractions
