Greater Quebec City Trip Planner
Welcome to Greater Quebec City!
Greater Quebec City is comprised of the eight boroughs of Quebec City, the island of Orléans and the regional municipalities of Côte-De-Beaupré and Portneuf. The city of Quebec is home to the famous Winter Carnival and the old city, and is a delightful blend of historic old world charm combined with all of the conveniences of a modern city. However, there is much more to Greater Quebec City than just the area inside the old city walls. There are several waterfalls in the area, some of which can be climbed during the winter. Two major ski hills are located in the area, and rustic Portneuf County is a major destination for snowmobile enthusiasts. Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, northwest of the old city, is the departure point for the Station Touristique Duchesnay, home to the famous Ice Hotel. The region also has dozens of historic religious sites, ranging from small country churches to the basilica at the shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré.
